Valencia are keen to secure the services of Saúl Ñíguez from Atlético Madrid before the transfer window closes, report Nacho Sanchis and Matteo Moretto from Relevo.
Diego Simeone is not counting upon the Spaniard as a regular starter at the Estadio Metropolitano and he has been struggling for minutes under the Argentine coach’s leadership all season.
Earlier in January Saúl was linked with a move to Rayo Vallecano, but it appears as though talks have broken down as Los Franjirrojos do not have the budget to cover his wages.
Valencia have entered the race to sign the Spanish international from Atlético Madrid and they are looking to secure a loan deal until the summer of 2024. According to reports, Los Che are willing to pay a percentage of Saúl’s salary.
Saúl’s contract with Los Colchoneros is valid until June 2026 and as things stand there are no clubs looking to buy the midfielder outright.
The Ilicitano spent the past season at Chelsea, but he failed to impress in the Premier League.
