Serie A side Lecce have rejected Southampton’s offer to sign Danish midfielder Morten Hjulmand.
Marco Conterio has reported that the midfielder is a key target for the Saints this month after he has impressed for the side in Serie A and in general. Southampton have put forward an offer of €11 million for the Dane, after previous reports stated their interest in the player.
Lecce though, have already rejected the approach but the Saints are expected to make another offer for the 23-year-old midfielder. It has been previously reported that Lecce are not looking to sell Hjulmand this month and want to keep him at the club for the remainder of the season.
The defensive midfielder has made 17 Serie A appearances this season, racking up three assists so far.
