Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Pedro Porro has been “very clear” since the beginning of January that he would like to sign for Antonio Conte’s side this month, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has told GiveMeSport.
The Sporting Lisbon full-back had been linked with a potential move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before the winter transfer window opened.

Tottenham transfer news – Pedro Porro
As per Sky Sports News, Tottenham are prepared to meet Sporting’s financial demands and are close to finalising a deal for Porro, who has a release clause worth £39m.
The 23-year-old appeared as a 77th-minute substitute in the Portuguese giants’ League cup semi-final win at Arouca on Tuesday evening, in what could potentially be his last showing for the capital club, with head coach Ruben Amorim admitting that he’s unsure whether the full-back will take part in Saturday’s final with Porto.
Romano has told GiveMeSport that Porro’s Spurs contract is now ready at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and the Premier League outfit are completing the final steps of the transfer.
And the Italian journalist also told GMS that the Sporting star always desired a move to the Lilywhites after the north London side indicated their initial interest, something which the player has always been very clear about.
What has Romano said about Tottenham and Porro?
Romano told GiveMeSport: “There is a discussion with Sporting but the player wants Tottenham, the player has been very clear since the beginning of January.”
Will Porro be a good signing for Tottenham?
Porro – who has been described as a “special talent” by journalist Zach Lowy – could be an excellent addition at right wing-back for Conte and could potentially allow the club to let one of Emerson Royal, Matt Doherty or Djed Spence leave on a permanent or loan deal before next Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
The one-cap Spain international has made 25 appearances for the Lisbon giants this season, hitting the back of the net three times and providing an impressive 11 assists, suggesting that he could be a useful attacking outlet for Spurs ahead of the second half of the campaign.
The Don Benito-born star has earned an average WhoScored rating of 7.19 for his displays in the Portuguese top flight, ranking him as the side’s third-best-performing player for the current campaign, showing that a step-up to the Premier League could now be the natural next step for the Spaniard.
Therefore, Conte will be delighted if Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy can bolster his full-back department and get a deal for Porro over the line imminently.
