Bayer Leverkusen started off 2023 with a win, beating Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-2 at Borussia-Park this evening.
It looked like game over for Gladbach when Nadiem Amiri made it 3-0 in the 67th minute, but Leverkusen then took their foot off the gas pedal and ended up conceding twice, much to the frustration of Lukas Hradecky.
“We can be very satisfied with the first 70 minutes,” the Leverkusen goalkeeper said in a post-match interview.
“Then we slackened off. We have to work on that.”
Leverkusen now have two home games coming up, facing Bochum on Wednesday before locking horns with Borussia Dortmund in a week.
“Now we want to keep going. We’ll be back in the BayArena on Wednesday,” noted Hradecky.
