Tottenham Hotspur have made a ‘verbal proposal’ for Brighton & Hove Albion forward Leandro Trossard, Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor has relayed to GiveMeSport.
The 28-year-old has fallen out with Seagulls manager Roberto De Zerbi and has been linked with a move away from the Amex Stadium as a result.
Tottenham Hotspur transfer news – Trossard
Trossard’s agent Josy Comhair has stated that his client is no longer on speaking terms with De Zerbi and that the Italian boss ‘humiliated’ the creative talent in front of the first-team squad.
“After the World Cup, there was an altercation between Leandro and a player in training over a trivial matter,” Comhair said.
“Since then, the manager no longer speaks to Leandro, which is obviously not conducive to the atmosphere, nor is it performance-oriented. Last Monday, the manager humiliated Leandro in group and indicated that he no longer wanted to see him.”

The Athletic have since revealed that Tottenham made a verbal offer of around £12 million for Trossard which was rejected by Brighton.
And talkSPORT then stated that both Spurs and Arsenal are set to battle it out for the Belgium international’s signature, who is valued at £25 million by his current employers.
What has Taylor said about Trossard?
Taylor relayed the news of Tottenham’s interest in Trossard to GMS before disclosing that he doesn’t believe Brighton are eager to offload him this winter.

He said: “As reported on The Athletic, there has been a verbal proposal from Tottenham, but it remains to be seen whether they’ll try again.
“Also, there’s been a bid from a foreign club as well for Trossard which was rejected, which to me, says quite clearly that Brighton aren’t willing to sell him this month even though his contract situation is still sort of dwindling.”
Would Trossard be a good signing?
Trossard had been in magnificent form for Brighton prior to his fallout with De Zerbi, registering seven goals and three assists in 16 Premier League appearances.
As per WhoScored, the diminutive star has also averaged 2.4 shots, 1.4 key passes, and 0.7 dribbles per top-flight fixture throughout 2022/23, placing him in the top three for each metric when compared to his teammates.
Antonio Conte’s charges are in need of extra creativity in the final third of the pitch at this moment in time, and Trossard could be the ideal candidate to provide it.
