Wolves now ‘set for more signings’ after Sarabia at Molineux

Wolverhampton Wanderers could make “three or four” more additions to Julen Lopetegui’s squad at Molineux this month including the potential signings of Pablo Sarabia and João Gomes, transfer insider Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport.

Wolves currently sit just two points above the relegation zone as they look to secure their survival in the Premier League this season.

Wolves transfer news – January

Having already secured the additions of Matheus Cunha from Atlético Madrid and Mario Lemina from Nice this month, Wolves now look set to complete the signings of Paris Saint-Germain winger Sarabia, whilst a move for Flamengo midfielder Gomes hangs in the balance.

Back in December, The Times reported that the West Midlands side were targeting six signings during the January transfer window, as Fosun look to give Lopetegui the best possible chance of steering away from relegation danger, which is seemingly being backed up by the club’s business over the last few weeks.

Jones told GiveMeSport last month that the Wanderers are now able to attract a different calibre of player due to their Spanish head coach’s presence at the club.

And now the transfer insider believes that Wolves could realistically make another three or four additional signings, including that of Sarabia and Gomes.

What has Jones said about Wolves?

Jones told GiveMeSport: “At the moment, I’m hearing around three or four more signings is probably realistic. There is also real optimism at the moment, just about the fact that results have turned around and the current squad has been improved already since the new manager came in.”

Who could Wolves sign next?

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who was speaking to GiveMeSport, Wolves could look to secure the loan signing of Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka if he is made available for a temporary switch away from Old Trafford this month.

Meanwhile, the Wanderers have already made an offer for West Ham United centre-back Craig Dawson, with Irons boss David Moyes confirming as much by saying (via BBC Sport): “We’ve had an offer from Wolves, we’ve not accepted it and that’s as much as I can tell you.”

Sources in Spain (AS) have reported that Wolves have had a loan bid for Villarreal and Senegal striker Nicolas Jackson turned down by the La Liga club, with the West Midlands side intending to buy the number nine permanently in the summer, though The Athletic’s Jacob Tanswell has now reported that Southampton have now made a bid for the centre-forward.

Therefore, following a turnaround in Premier League form since Lopetegui’s appointment, it looks as though Wolves are willing to back their new head coach in a bid to secure Premier League survival this campaign.
