Bayern Munich have made an initial offer for Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, according to Repubblica and Tuttusport.
The German champions are still looking for a replacement for the long-term injured Manuel Neuer and are understood to have identified the 26-year-old as a candidate.
Empoli are reportedly now considering whether to let their first-choice goalkeeper go in the middle of the season.
Bayern have mostly been linked with Yann Sommer recently, but have so far been unable to agree a transfer fee with Gladbach.
Vicario, 26, has featured 58 times for Empoli. He spent the 2021/22 season on loan at the Serie A side and was then signed on a permanent deal for €8.5 million last summer.
