Oliver Bitter of Germany’s Kicker magazine presently confirms rumors surfacing yesterday regarding the imminent transfer of Keven Schlotterbeck to VfL Bochum. In a report appearing on Kicker’s website today, Bitter says that separate rumors “coincide with Kicker information”.
Details of the move are not yet readily available, but one assumes that the 25-year-old will be loaned out to the Revierklub for the duration of the season. Keven, just like his slightly younger brother Nico Schlotterbeck, came up through the Freiburg youth academy. Both Keven and Nico were previously loaned out to 1. FC Union Berlin for developmental purposes at different times.
Keven has only featured twice for the Breisgauer this season. The center-halve nevertheless maintains an estimated market worth of €3 million and generated interest from multiple Bundesliga sides ahead of the current transfer window. Bochum appear to have won the race and secured a sure-fire new starter in head-coach Thomas Letsch’s back-four.
