Denis Suárez has an agreement in place to join Villarreal, reports Fabrizio Romano.
As it was communicated last year, the 28-year-old fell out with Celta Vigo president Carlos Mouriño, which meant he hasn’t played a single minute for the club this season.
According to the Italian journalist, Villarreal have a full verbal agreement in place to sign the midfielder in June 2023.
Suárez’s contract with the Galician outfit is valid until June 2024, but it is believed that the two parties are ready to terminate it this coming summer in order to facilitate the transfer. The former Arsenal player could move to the Mediterranean coast as soon as January if Celta Vigo and Villarreal are able to arrive at a deal in the winter transfer window to speed up the process.
Once his departure has been finalised, Suárez is expected to sign a contract with The Yellow Submarine until June 2026.
