Manchester United ‘sent people to scout’ Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus earlier this season, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has informed GiveMeSport.
The 22-year-old is one of the most in-demand players at this moment in time following a string of impressive performances for both club and country in recent months.
Manchester United transfer news – Mohammed Kudus
A recent report from The Athletic has claimed that Kudus is admired by United manager Erik ten Hag as he looks to replace Cristiano Ronaldo in the January transfer window.
However, the Red Devils are far from the Ghana international’s only potential suitors with Spanish sources stating four other European giants are also monitoring his situation.
It’s believed that Premier League duo Liverpool and Chelsea are also taking a keen interest in Kudus alongside Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Miguel Delaney of The Independent revealed that Everton made a last-minute £15 million offer for the creative talent over the summer which was swiftly rejected by his current employers, and The Sun state he is now valued at £40m.
Keeping hold of Kudus may prove to be extremely difficult for Ajax in the winter, though, as the prospect of moving to Old Trafford or the Bernabeu will surely be more appealing than a switch to Goodison Park.
What has Romano said about Kudus?
United are believed to be in the market for attacking reinforcements after Ronaldo departed the club last month by mutual consent.

And Romano has told GMS that Kudus and Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos are two players who have been watched by the United hierarchy.
He said: “I think, at the moment, it’s just an interest in the sense that they sent people to scout him and to follow him as they did with Goncalo Ramos. So, at the moment, it’s not a negotiation with Ajax.”
Would Kudus be a good signing?
Kudus has been in fabulous form for Ajax so far this season, registering 10 goals and two goals in 21 appearances across all competitions, and his performances for Ghana at the World Cup saw him labelled “incredible”.
As per FBref, the immensely talented star has also ranked in the 99th percentile for attempted passes and completed dribbles, 97th for progressive passes, touches in the attacking penalty area, and progressive passes received amongst his positional peers over the last year.
Kudus has also ranked in the 96th percentile for total shots, the 86th for shot-creating actions, and the 85th for tackles, highlighting exactly why he is on the radar of so many big clubs.
Ten Hag will already know Kudus’ qualities well having managed him at Ajax, and he could become the Dutch tactician’s third acquisition from his former side.
