According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich’s chief scout Pirmin Schwegler is moving to TSG Hoffenheim to become their new sporting director.
The former Hoffenheim player will start his new post in January having worked for Bayern since 2020. Ahead of the news, Schwegler was seen at Hoffenehim’s test match against 1960 Munich last weekend.
As TSG’s new sporting director, Schwegler will report to the director of football, Alexander Rosen. It’s the 35-year-old’s first role in operative business and will have to learn the ropes as soon as possible. At first, he will have to reply on his experience during his playing days.
Schwegler spent most of his career playing in the Bundesliga for Hoffenheim, Hannover 96, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Bayer Leverkusen. In the top division, the former Swiss international played 262 games, scoring 11 goals.
It’s still unclear who will replace Schwegler as chief scout at Bayern.
