West Ham should secure deal for Morocco World Cup star Azzedine Ounahi

In latest West Ham news, David Moyes’ side are said to be interested in signing Angers star Azzedine Ounahi.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a brilliant World Cup campaign in Qatar as he helped Morocco reach the semi-final of the tournament.

The midfielder played in all seven matches for the Atlas Lions who created history by becoming the first African nation to make it to the last-four.

His performances in Qatar have sparked interest from several clubs in the Premier League.

According to a report from The Mail, West Ham are keen to secure the Moroccan’s services while Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers have also been credited with an interest.

However, Ligue 1 outfit Angers want a substantial £40 million to let their star player leave.

West Ham should secure deal for Azzedine

West Ham heavily backed David Moyes in the summer transfer window, with the club splashing over £150m on new recruits.

However, the Scottish boss has miserably failed to deliver results this season as the Hammers are currently 16th in the table with a meagre 14 points.

The club hierarchy might be reluctant to provide more funds in January but Ounahi is such a talented player that they should seriously consider signing him.

The 22-year-old mainly plays as a central or attacking midfielder and is highly rated for his dribbling skills and ability to hold onto the ball.

He started six matches for Morocco in the World Cup, completing 1.3 tackles and 1.0 interceptions per game. The former Avranches star also averaged 0.9 shots and 0.9 key passes per match in Qatar.

Azzedine is also very young and has room for a lot of improvement in his game.

West Ham should make their best efforts to land the talented midfielder.
