Chelsea boss Graham Potter will throw Youssoufa Moukoko into the Stamford Bridge first-team ‘straightaway’ if he succeeds in luring him away from Borussia Dortmund, journalist Simon Phillips has told GiveMeSport.
Potter will be handed the opportunity to bolster his squad for the first time since his September appointment when the transfer window reopens next month.

Chelsea transfer news – Youssoufa Moukoko
According to The Times, Chelsea are facing competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool as they attempt to win the race for Moukoko’s signature.
The report suggests the 18-year-old wants to be convinced that he will not play a bit-part role if he agrees to a switch away from the Bundesliga, while Dortmund are preparing to put another contract offer on the table after seeing a deal worth £4.4million-per-year turned down.
Dortmund are desperate to tie Moukoko down to fresh terms as his current agreement is set to expire next summer, meaning he can open negotiations with overseas suitors at the turn of the year.
The German giants are hopeful that the striker’s relationship with boss Edin Terzic will convince him to put pen-to-paper amid additional interest from La Liga.
Transfer insider Dean Jones has also told GiveMeSport that Manchester City could enter the race for Moukoko’s signature when the January window opens for business.

What has Simon Phillips said about Moukoko?
Phillips believes that Chelsea are scouring the market and attempting to tempt some of the world’s biggest up-and-coming talents to west London, having also targeted Palmeiras frontman Endrick.
But the journalist understands that Moukoko will link-up with the Blues’ first-team immediately if he opts to make the switch from Dortmund.
Phillips told GiveMeSport: “Chelsea have got scouts everywhere at the moment. You’re seeing Chelsea linked with players like Endrick and, obviously, Moukoko as well. They are around a similar age group.
“But the difference is Moukoko would come into Chelsea’s first-team straightaway. I’ve had that confirmed.”
Would Moukoko be a good signing for Chelsea?
According to Transfermarkt, Moukoko has already scored six goals and registered as many assists in 22 appearances this season.
That shows that, despite being in the early stages of his career, the teenager is already a major threat in the final third of the pitch.
Moukoko’s Dortmund form resulted in him being named in the Germany squad for the World Cup and although their group stage exit resulted in his game-time being limited to just one minute, it is another indication of his quality.
He was described as ‘amazing’ by Manchester City frontman Erling Haaland when they were teammates at Signal Iduna Park, while he also claimed he is ‘the biggest talent in the world’.
WhoScored statistics show that Moukoko is leading the way for Bundesliga goals and assists at Dortmund this term, while he also has the fifth-best average match rating at 6.88, so Potter should not hesitate in heading to the negotiating table.
