Former RB Leipzig star, Diego Demme is open to a return to the Bundesliga this summer, according to Bild.
Since leaving the Saxons in 2020 after playing their part in rising through the divisions and into the Champions League, Demme has struggled with injury and playing time. This season, the 31-year-old midfielder has only featured three times for Napoli.
Last summer, Bayer Leverkusen were very close to signing Demme but pulled out at the last minute. Having just overcome a double-foot fracture, clubs may now be willing to take a chance on the veteran midfielder.
As per the report, Eintracht Frankfurt and TSG Hoffenheim are interested in Demme’s services. However, they also face competition from AC Milan and Valencia. Despite Demme’s contract running until 2024, it’s expected that he’ll leave Napoli in January seeking regular football. With the list of clubs monitoring the situation, don’t expect him to sit on the sidelines for Napoli for much longer.
