As reported by Kicker, Borussia Mönchengladbach captain Yann Sommer is attracting the interest of both Inter Milan and Manchester United.
The swiss international goalkeeper was heavily linked with a move away from Gladbach in the summer with Nice being the most likely destination. However, despite deciding to stay with Gladbach for this season at least, Sommer is yet to sign a contract extension beyond 2023.
The club’s sports director Roland Virkus isn’t giving up on his number one goalkeeper, however. He still intends on keeping the 33-year-old and insists no approaches have been made for him so far.
The Swiss goalkeeper has been an integral part of Gladbach since he joined in 2014. His performances for die Fohlen have easily put him in the conversation as one of the best goalkeepers in the league with a highlight this season being his league-record 19 saves against Bayern Munich.
If the links to either Manchester United or Inter Milan are true, one of these top clubs will get an experienced and excellent goalkeeper on a possible free transfer.
