Rodrigo De Paul could miss Argentina’s World Cup quarter-final against the Netherlands, as reported by ESPN’s Esteban Edul.
According to the journalist, the Atlético Madrid midfielder has undergone tests to determine the extent of a possible injury and there is concern among the Argentina coaching staff. It seems, according to the information, that the affected area is the right hamstring.
Earlier on Wednesday, De Paul took part in the first part of training with the squad but was not involved in the game. The player’s desire to play means he still has a chance of featuring against Louis van Gaal’s side on Friday but Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni will have to decide.
La Albiceleste are also waiting until the last minute for the return of Ángel Di María, who is suffering from a quadricep problem.
The winner of Argentina vs Netherlands will play the winner of Brazil vs Croatia in the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup.
