Newcastle United target and USA international Christian Pulisic would be interested in a move to St James’ Park, believes journalist Pete O’Rourke.
The Chelsea winger has been linked with a switch to Eddie Howe’s side, and O’Rourke thinks the Magpies now have the appeal to lure such a player to the club.

Newcastle transfer news – Christian Pulisic
Transfer reporter Dean Jones recently told GIVEMESPORT that Pulisic is a player Newcastle are willing to consider heading into the January window.
The 24-year-old could be on the lookout for a new home due to a lack of game time this season, with St James’ Park being a possible destination.
As per Transfermarkt, Pulisic has made 18 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea in the current campaign, but only five of those have actually been starts.
He has also managed just the one goal, which came in a 3-0 win against Wolves back in October.

What has Pete O’Rourke said about Christian Pulisic and Newcastle?
O’Rourke thinks Pulisic would be open to joining Newcastle in the new year.
When asked if the Chelsea star would be interested in a move to St James’ Park, the journalist said to GMS: “I think a lot of players will be interested in a move to Newcastle right now.
“They’re flying high at the top end of the Premier League table. It looks like they could potentially finish in the top four this season as well, and obviously it’s a really exciting project under the new owners at Newcastle.”
Christian Pulisic’s World Cup stats
While Pulisic would have been disappointed with the USA’s 3-1 loss to the Netherlands in the last 16, he can still be pleased with how his first World Cup went.
The former Borussia Dortmund man played in all four of his country’s fixtures, scored one goal and provided two assists, as per Transfermarkt.
According to FBref, he had a dribble success rate of 26.7%, which is not amazing, but it is higher than Neymar’s 18.2%. In total, though, he did attempt 15 dribbles during the tournament so was definitely trying to lead Gregg Berhalter’s attack.
Chelsea paid £58m for Pulisic, as reported by BBC Sport, but given his contract situation, Newcastle should not have to offer a figure near that. As things stand, he will be leaving Stamford Bridge in 2024 when his existing deal expires.
Based on his World Cup showing, if the Magpies can get Pulisic for around £30m, it could be stunning business.
