Hansi Flick’s position as Germany’s head coach is still in doubt due to the availability of Thomas Tuchel, according to Kicker.
Since Germany’s group-stage exit at the World Cup, there has been plenty of speculation regarding the future of the head coach. This was made more complicated when Oliver Bierhoff resigned as sporting director of the DFB this week.
As per the report, the DFB are still determining whether they will stand by Flick as they set their eyes on Euro 2024 which is also being hosted by Germany. This is partially down to the availability of former Mainz 05, Borussia Dortmund, and Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel.
What’s more, one of the names being linked with the DFB sporting director role is current Austria head coach Ralf Rangnick. Not only is he a vastly experienced professional, he already has a good working relationship with Tuchel. If they plan on offering the role to Rangnick, it could be argued that Tuchel should take over from Flick.
