Speaking to media ahead of Germany’s UEFA Nations League game against England, 31-year-old central-midfielder Ilkay Gündogan had the highest of praise for Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala.
“Musiala is the future of German football alongside guys like [Karim] Adeyemi, [Nico] Schlotterbeck and David Raum. He’s unbelievably talented and already very far on in his development for his age,” said Gündogan.
“There’s no questioning Jamal’s quality on the ball. His movement is superb and even though he’s pretty slight, he’s very strong in the tackle. He already uses his body very intelligently. If he’s smart about it, he’ll make sure he uses it in a way that avoids him going shoulder to shoulder.”
The 19-year-old made his Germany debut in March 2021 under Joachim Löw and his Bundesliga debut with Bayern under Hansi Flick as a 17-year-old in June 2020.
