After securing their Bundesliga status, Hertha Berlin are interested in signing Jean-Paul Boëtius on a free transfer, according to Kicker.
The Dutchman’s contract with Mainz expires this month and both parties have already confirmed that Boëtius won’t sign a contract extension.
The 28-year-old worked under Sandro Schwarz, who was last week appointed as Hertha head coach, during their time together in Mainz, which makes Boëtius an interesting proposition for Die Alte Dame.
Boëtius played 129 games in all competitions for Mainz since joining in 2018, scoring 13 and creating 23.
