Neuer played his 18th World Cup game last night, meaning he has tied Maier and Taffarel for most World Cup appearances as a goalkeeper.
Unless something drastic happens, Neuer will set a new record on Thursday, when Germany face Costa Rica in their last group stage game of the World Cup in Qatar.
The Bayern veteran made his debut for Germany in 116 and has gone on to represent his country a total of 116 times.
