Niclas Füllkrug ensured a crucial point for Germany against Spain tonight, making it 1-1 after coming on from the bench.
Speaking in a post-match interview, the Werder Bremen striker emphasized just how important the point is.
“We really wanted to take something from the game. It was important for the feeling in the squad that we got a point,” said Füllkrug.
“There’s still room for improvement, but we definitely still have the chance to go through.
“We can go into the last game with a good feeling now and hope that everything turns out well.”
Germany face Costa Roca in their last group stage game on Thursday and need to win to keep their hopes of advancing to the knockout stages alive.
