Eintracht Frankfurt are in advanced talks to sign Lucas Alario from Bayer Leverkusen, according to Kicker.
The 29-year-old Argentine forward wants to remain in Europe with interest also arising from Italy.
With the contract extension of Patrik Schick and signings of Sardar Azmoun and Adam Hložek, Alario will find himself further down the pecking order in a World Cup year, a year in which he wants playing time to improve his chances of representing Argentina in Qatar.
Alario signed a contract extension last summer until 2024 but only so that B04 didn’t lose the striker on a free this summer. All signs are pointing to a seperation for a reported €6.5m.
Eintracht also showed an interest in signing Alario last summer.
