Marco Asensio has spoken about his state of mind and that of the Spain squad in the build-up to the Germany game on Sunday.
“I feel very good. I’m adapting to what Luis Enrique is asking me to do and I’m very happy for the confidence he’s giving me,” the Spain forward said in quotes reported by Marca.
On Gavi
“It’s surprising to see what he is doing at just 18 years of age. I watch him train and he has a lot of self-confidence.”
On Spain team
“What characterises us most is that we are a team. The truth is that we play very good football.”
Asensio scored in Spain’s 7-0 win over Costa Rica in La Roja’s World Cup Group E opener.
The Real Madrid player, who started in a central attacking role against Costa Rica, is in contention to start against Hansi Flick’s Germany. Germany are under pressure heading into the clash after losing their opening game against Japan.
Spain take on Japan on December 1.
