Wataru Endo still has a decent chance of playing for Japan in the World Cup after easily being named to their squad. The Stuttgart captain was stretchered off in the second half on Matchday 14 and immediately sent to the hospital.
But, he could be ready in time for the World Cup after interim coach Michael Wimmer confirmed to Sky that a concussion was suspected following the game.
Sporting Director Sven Mislintat added, “We wish that he can play for his country in Qatar.”
