According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting could earn €5m a year in new Bayern Munich deal.
The Cameroonian international has been a sensation since playing in the number nine role for Bayern this year. Until his introduction into the starting 11, Bayern were struggling to create chances and went four Bundesliga games without a win.
With Choupo-Moting, Bayern have looked like their old selves. The 33-year-old’s contract is due to expire in the summer which has prompted the Bavarian club to act fast, especially with other clubs including Manchester United monitoring the situation.
As per the report, Choupo-Moting will hold talks after the World Cup with money possibly being the main issue. If the figure of €5m per year is to be believed, it could be enough to convince Choupo-Moting to stay in Munich for longer.
Bayern Munich are currently four points ahead of Freiburg, who play RB Leipzig on Wednesday night.
