Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka recently opposed World Cup ambassador Khalid Salman’s derogatory comments when he stated that homosexuality is “damage in the mind.”

World Cup ambassador Khalid Salman is in hot water for stating that homosexuality is “damage in the mind” during a documentary with ZDF.
In response, Manuel Neuer stated, “In no way does it fit with our world view. It’s unacceptable and very sad to hear such a thing.”
The star keeper will wear the One-Love armband in Qatar and added, “We hope of course that through the One-Love armband we can show a lot of strength together with other nations.”
Leon Goretzka shared that, “It’s very oppressive. This gives a human image from another millennium, it’s not what we stand for and not what we set an example for. It’s absolutely unacceptable to make such a statement.”
Bayern’s ultra section held up a sign on Matchday 14 that read, “Damaged minds! F*** you Khalid & co.”
