Speaking after Bayern Munich’s 6-1 win against Werder Bremen at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night, Julian Nagelsmann discussed the Rekordmeister’s impressive scoring record this season.
“Goals are what make football so exciting. Forty-seven goals in the Bundesliga, a fourth home win in a row in which we’ve scored at least four goals – that’s quite extraordinary,” said Nagelsmann.
Discussing the game, Nagelsmann added: “We currently have a very good mix of quality and desire. The game was tough when we conceded an equaliser and missed a penalty, but we stayed calm and composed and scored three goals before the break. In the second half, we let ourselves drop off a bit. All in all, we played well for the fans. Hats off to the team, they’re doing very well.”
Jamal Musiala opened the scoring in the sixth minute with his ninth Bundesliga goal of the season. Bayern then scored three goals in six minutes after Anthony Jung equalised for Bremen. Gnabry (22), Leon Goretzka (26) and then Gnabry again (28) before the 27-year-old completed his hat-trick (82). A late substitute, Mathys Tel completed the rout in the 84th minute.
Bayern’s 6-1 win moves them four points clear of Freiburg, who play in-form RB Leipzig on Wednesday night. With 47 goals and just 13 conceded after 14 games, the Bavarians already have an impressive +31 goal difference.
