Arsenal could face a ‘really, really important month’ when January comes around following their strong start to the season, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The Gunners are currently sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League and could dip into the transfer market for extra reinforcements when it reopens for business over the winter.
What is the latest news involving Arsenal?
Mikel Arteta has been heavily backed in the transfer market since being appointed as Arsenal’s manager in December 2019, spending around £335 million on new signings.
However, the Spanish tactician has recently admitted that he, alongside his recruitment team, will ‘look at everything’ ahead of the winter window to see if the right player is available.
“With the position that we are in right now, it demands as well another level of player,” said Arteta. “That player has to be available. We will look at everything, and let’s see what we can do”.

Arsenal missed out on signing Lisandro Martinez and Raphinha over the summer as they chose to join Manchester United and Barcelona over them, respectively.
Therefore, it’s possible that a left-sided centre-back and a winger will be at the top of Arteta’s wish list.
What has Sheth said about Arsenal?
Sheth believes that the World Cup could have a big impact over proceedings and that a lot may depend on how the players are physically and mentally following the showpiece event.

In an exclusive interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “I think it will be really important to see what happens in the World Cup, how the players come back, how fit they are when they come back.
“And also, if Mikel Arteta decides to go into the transfer window in January, it could be a really, really important month for them.”
Who could Arsenal buy in January?
The Evening Standard have recently disclosed that Eintracht Frankfurt’s Evan Ndicka is on Arsenal’s radar with the centre-back out of contract next summer.
Several other top clubs from across the continent have been credited with an interest in the central defender, and it’s believed that Frankfurt are set to demand £13 million to sanction his sale.
Meanwhile, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano previously revealed to GMS that Arsenal ‘explored’ the possibility of signing Shakhtar Donestk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk over the summer.
The in-demand star is priced at £86m by his current employers and is set to be at the centre of a fiercely contested transfer tussle over the coming months.
