Following another muscle injury, Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has returned to Belgium ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
While Lukaku had returned to full fitness and had featured for Simone Inzaghi’s side in the Champions League and Serie A, he picked up another injury some days ago and that has ruled him out of action for the Nerazzurri and he will feature for them only in 2023.
Sky Italia have now reported that Lukaku has returned to Belgium ahead of the World Cup and has made first contact with the Red Devils, who want to assess his situation soon before the major tournament.
In agreement with the Inter doctors, Lukaku will work with the Belgian national team doctors and undergo a new test which will determine his situation. After that, there will be more clarity about when he will return to action. He is expected to be out of Inter’s last three Serie A games.
