With the World Cup just around the corner, David Raum and Robin Gosens are both struggling for form, leaving Germany coach Hansi Flick with a potential problem at the left-back position.
As a result thereof, Flick recently inquired about the availability of FC Köln captain Jonas Hector, according to Sky Germany.
Hector, however, rejected the inquiry and told Flick that he will not be returning to the German national team, per the report.
The 32-year-old made his debut for Germany in 2014 and went on to feature 43 times before announcing his international retirement in 2019.
