Atlético Madrid are considering to make a move for Perr Schuurs of Torino, report Mundo Deportivo.
Los Colchoneros are planning to rebuild their defensive line. Diego Simeone’s current centre-back pairing is Stefan Savić and José María Giménez, however, both players are prone to injury and the Argentine coach does not want to rely on Mario Hermoso and Felipe alone.
The club will be looking to bring in reinforcements in the upcoming transfer windows that could allow Atlético Madrid to compete with Europe’s elite, including Real Madrid and Barcelona domestically.
They have identified Perr Schuurs as a centre-back that they would like to bring to the Estadio Metropolitano. The 22-year-old, who came through the Ajax youth system, joined Torino this past summer and has been a regular in the Serie A side’s defensive line.
Schuurs, who has been called up to the senior side of the Dutch national team, is often labelled as the “new Matthijs de Ligt”.
