Manchester City’s João Cancelo has dismissed rumours linking him with a move to Real Madrid, report Mundo Deportivo.
In September it was communicated that Los Blancos were interested in signing Cancelo from The Sky Blues as the long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal.
However, in an interview with City Magazine, the Portuguese international expressed that he is very happy in England:
“I needed a period to adapt, but now I am much more integrated here. And I hope to stay many more years at Manchester City because this is where I feel good.”
Cancelo’s current contract is valid with the Premier League side until June 2027 and Real Madrid are very unlikely to pay his €65m market valuation.
The 28-year-old moved to Manchester City from Juventus in the summer of 2019 for a fee between €55m and €65m, making him the most expensive right-back in the history of professional football.
