RB Leipzig defender Mohamed Simakan has confirmed reports that Paris Saint-Germain showed interest in him during the summer transfer window.
“Luis Campos (PSG’s strategic advisor, ed.) spoke with my representatives, that’s true. They were interested,” Simakan told L’Equipe.
However, the move didn’t materialize. One of the reasons was that Simakan didn’t want to leave Germany just a year after joining Leipzig from Strasbourg.
“Stability is important for me,” Simakan stressed and continued:
“”We made a joint decision with those responsible at the club, namely to stay. I’m satisfied because I think Leipzig is the place where I feel most comfortable at the moment.”
