Lucas Hernández is interested in the prospect of returning to Atlético Madrid, report Mundo Deportivo.
The Frenchman, who came through the Atlético Madrid youth academy, joined Bayern Munich in 2019 from Los Colchoneros for a fee of €80m.
Hernández signed a five-year contract at the time and as things stand he would become a free agent in June 2024. With renewal talks not currently on the table, in an interview on El Partidazo de la Cope he revealed that he would be interested in the idea of returning to the Estadio Metropolitano:
“The truth is that Atleti, as I have always said, is the club that has given me everything. You know that I have always been fond of the club and the truth is that since I have left I have always wished them the best and why not someday, if there is the opportunity to return, why not?”
“It’s the club that in the end has given me everything. The fact that I am at Bayern is partly because of Atlético Madrid. They confided in me since I was a kid and they were the ones who gave me everything until I left,” he added.
