Christopher Nkunku is in line to start for RB Leipzig against Real Madrid in the Champions League tomorrow.
The French international made his return from a wrist injury as he came on to score in Saturday’s 3-3 draw with Augsburg.
And speaking ahead of tomorrow’s game against Real Madrid, RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose confirmed that Nkunku is ready to start again.
“He had the operation and couldn’t train much last week, but he was able to play off the bench against Augsburg and did well. He’s available for the starting XI,” Rose said.
Dani Olmo, who made his return from a long spell on the sidelines against Augsburg, could come on from the bench once more.
“Dani Olmo got his first minutes against Augsburg and he could get some more against Real, but we’ll take it slowly and he’s not an option for 90 minutes,” commented Rose.
Timo Werner should be back after recovering from an infection. But, like Olmo, he’s not ready to play the full game tomorrow, said Rose.
