Union traveling fans excluded from UEL fixture in Belgium, BVB supporters await ruling

UEFA officially handed down its judgement regarding the role of 1. FC Union Berlin fans in a pyrotechnic incident in Sweden on October 6th.

Die Eisernen will have to do without all traveling supporters in their final Europa League fixture in Belgium on November 3rd. Another ruling concerning Dortmund traveling supporters is expected soon.

Confirmation of the official penalties for both sides involved in the incident includes specific fines for both clubs. The German European representatives must fork over €40,000 while the Swedes are on the hook for a little less than double that. Union’s qualification for the UEL knockout rounds is by no means assured. The Köpenickers sit in third place in their group with two matchdays remaining.
