The DFB have today confirmed that Karim Adeyemi (20) has received a two-game suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct. The Borussia Dortmund forward was sent off in the 85th minute of the DFB Pokal tie against Hannover on Wednesday and is now suspended for the Round of 16 game and one additional cup tie.
Adeyemi was sent off by Sven Jablonski. The decision is final.
Since his €30m move from RB Salzburg in the summer, Adeyemi has scored just two goals in 11 games across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund – averaging a goal every 242 minutes. The Germany international is yet to register an assist.
Last weekend, Adeyemi featured in Borussia Dortmund’s 2-0 defeat against Bundesliga leaders Union Berlin, receiving a match rating of 4 by GGFN. The forward started centrally but couldn’t establish himself in the game. The player was also at fault for Union’s second goal, losing the ball in midfield.
