Leeds United winger Jack Harrison has been the subject of ‘a lot of speculation’ but is ‘loving’ life at Elland Road, according to Sky Sports reporter Tim Thornton.
Jesse Marsch was handed more than £90 million to spend on his first-team squad in the summer but he crucially managed to hold on to one of his star men as well.
What is the latest on Harrison?
According to Football Insider, Leeds are ready to offer the 25-year-old a significant pay increase in an attempt to tie him to new terms in West Yorkshire.
The report adds that the contract offer could see Harrison’s wage increase to more than £80,000 per week.
His current £60,000 per-week deal is set to expire in the summer of 2024, leaving his long-term future up in the air.
It was a situation Newcastle United were keen to take advantage of in the summer transfer window, but saw a £20 million offer rejected.
It is understood that Leeds currently value Harrison at a price closer to £35 million and he is expected to remain on the Magpies’ list ahead of the January window opening.
What has Thornton said on his future?
Thornton understands that there has been a lot of speculation surrounding the future of Harrison in recent windows.
However, he adds that the player is happy at Elland Road and he continues to impress the club’s fans.
Thornton told GIVEMESPORT: “Obviously, Jack Harrison has done incredibly well. There was a lot of speculation in the summer about him, and even in the previous window there were one or two whispers. But for the player he’s happy at Leeds, he loves it at Leeds. He plays pretty much every week. His stats are good and he delivers.”

How important is Harrison to Leeds?
This summer was one of upheaval for the Whites as they saw two talismanic figures sold in the form of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha.
As a result, keeping hold of Harrison became a top priority in the latter stages of the window and his early season form has shown why that was such a crucial task.
In nine top-flight appearances this term, he has racked up one goal and three assists. It means he has now found the net 29 times in 175 games for the club.
Such experience is always likely to be crucial when a team brings in seven new faces and spends such a large amount of money. If they are able to tie him to a new deal ahead of January, it would give everyone at the club a boost.
