Wolfsburg are up to 13th in the Bundesliga table and have only lost once in their last five league games. After their draw to Gladbach on Matchday 10, manager Niko Kovac commented:
“We should have had more points, but I am satisfied with the development of the team. – We are here!”
Captain Maximilian Arnold is pleased with Kovac’s tactics: “You can play football better with two players on the outside. And I have a little more freedom, I can pick up the ball now and then. That’s good for us and me too, because I get a little more control of the game.”
Wolfsburg brass still believe they should be battling for European places, but are starting to see signs of promise with improved play on the pitch. They face Eintracht Braunschweig on Tuesday before turning their attention to struggling Leverkusen on the weekend.
