SC Freiburg have just officially announced an extension for goalkeeper Noah Atubolu. The 20-year-old currently starts for their reserve team and is the no. 1 for Germany’s U21 side. Per usual, Freiburg did not disclose the contents of the new deal.

Atubolu stated that, “I come from Freiburg and it is a big deal for me to take the next steps at the sports club. With the games in the 3rd League and the daily work with the professionals, I can further improve my goalkeeper game. I’m looking forward to the next few years here at the club and with the boys.”

Clear no. 1 Mark Flekken signed an extension in September and backup Benjamin Uphoff’s contract expires at the end of the season. Atubolu is seen as the future at the position, but will have to wait for his turn with the first team.
