Karim Benzema has returned to Real Madrid training after yesterday’s win at Getafe and has been named in the club’s squad for their Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk.
The France international was rested against Getafe due to muscle fatigue. On Tuesday, Madrid face Shakhtar in Warsaw and the No 9 is expected to return to the starting eleven, as will Toni Kroos and Ferland Mendy, according to Marca.
Kroos and Mendy were also rested against Getafe. Thibaut Courtois and Dani Ceballos will be the only absentees for the Champions League game, in which Madrid can mathematically seal their place in the last 16.
Benzema has four goals so far this season but has not scored since 28 August against Espanyol.
