Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek is ‘looking towards a January exit’ at this moment in time, according to journalist Dean Jones.
The 25-year-old has been unable to force his way into the starting XI at Old Trafford since making a £40 million move from Ajax back in 2020 and could seek pastures new imminently.
What is the latest news involving Van de Beek?
A recent report by 90min claims that Van de Beek has been granted permission to leave the club in January by the United hierarchy following his disappointing two-and-a-half-year spell at the club.
The Netherlands international’s £100,000-per-week contract is not due to expire until the summer of 2025, and the Red Devils will surely be eager to recoup as much money for him as possible.
French outlet Jeunes Footeux (via the Daily Mail) state that Leicester City are eager to give Van de Beek another chance in the Premier League as they search for Youri Tielemans’ heir.

Brendan Rodgers’ charges are said to be wanting to snap up the engine room operator on loan with an option to buy for £13m with Tielemans into the final year of his existing deal at the King Power Stadium.
It could be a transfer that works for all parties involved given the circumstances, but one that may still leave a bitter taste for everyone associated with United.
What has Jones said about Van de Beek?
When Van de Beek arrived in the red half of Manchester, there was much fanfare due to his impressive exploits with Ajax both domestically and in the Champions League.

Yet it hasn’t worked out for him at United, and Jones has disclosed to GiveMeSport that he feels ‘sorry’ for Van de Beek.
He said: “It’s tough to take. I mean, at the moment, he’s looking towards a January exit unless something changes. I do feel sorry for him with how the transfers gone.”
Has Van de Beek been harshly treated?
In his maiden campaign on English shores, Van de Beek started just four Premier League games under former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The creative talent’s fortunes failed to improve last term, though, despite the arrival of Ralf Rangnick on an interim basis and he was sent out on loan to Everton halfway through the season.
Nevertheless, a thigh injury meant Van de Beek only featured from the off five times for the Toffees, adding to his woes rather than relieving them.
The arrival of his ex-Ajax boss Erik ten Hag has failed to lead to Van de Beek getting regular opportunities and he has been restricted to just 19 minutes of action in the current campaign.
