Leverkusen’s veteran midfielder Charles Aranguiz could join Espanyol de Barcelona after the season ends, according to El Gol Digital. The Chilean is on the final year of his contract and it’s highly unlikely that Leverkusen will extend the deal.
Aranguiz has been at the company club since 2015 and in a recent interview, the 33-year-old answered where he would prefer to continue his career:
“In Spain, because as far as football is concerned, they play there similar to Brazil. It’s more about possession, in Germany that’s less the case.”
Aranguiz has also been linked to Brazilian clubs, but Spain is seen as the likely destination.
