Bayern Munich’s Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed that Kingsley Coman is fit enough to feature against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening in the first Klassiker of the season. The Frenchman suffered a torn hamstring on September 9 prior to their game against Stuttgart and has yet to play since.
“He is healthy, has passed all our fitness tests and is back in team training,” said Nagelsmann. “He’s not an option for the starting XI yet, but he could definitely come off the bench. He’s ready and could feature for 30 or 40 minutes.”
Bayern will also be without Thomas Müller who still has flu-like symptoms following Covid-19 but Joshua Kimmich, who also tested positive, is now over his infection and trained with the squad. The 27-year-old traveled to Dortmund and is an option for Nagelsmann. Long-term absentees Bouna Sarr and Lucas Hernandez remain sidelined.
As for Borussia Dortmund, they will be without Marco Reus but Gregor Kobel, Mats Hummels and Gio Reyna all return to the squad.
