Chelsea transfer target Christopher Nkunku is yet to ‘make up his mind’ regarding a potential transfer from RB Leipzig to Stamford Bridge, despite the player reportedly already completing a medical, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
Todd Boehly and his co-owners provided the Blues with more than £250 million to splash on new signings this summer but further large investments are already in the offing.
What is the latest on Nkunku?
The 24-year-old is all set to make the move to Chelsea next year after putting pen to paper on a pre-contract agreement with the two-time European champions, according to The Athletic.
The report adds that Chelsea are willing to pay Leipzig more than the star’s current release clause, which stands at £53 million.
BILD reporter Christian Falk previously revealed that Nkunku had travelled to Frankfurt to undergo a medical with Chelsea in September ahead of a proposed move next summer.
However, Leipzig boss Marco Rose recently dismissed reports that his talisman had agreed to a Premier League move, saying that he would not ‘comment on speculation.’
What has Sheth said on Nkunku?
Sheth understands that the Leipzig star is yet to make up his mind on whether to complete a move to Chelsea or not.
The Sky Sports reporter adds that a number of big clubs have ambitions of signing Nkunku although Chelsea have given themselves a headstart.
When asked whether the Blues may be rushing into a deal, Sheth told GIVEMESPORT: “Look, it’s not a case of, ‘oh, have they scouted this guy? How good is he?’ Lots of European clubs and the big European clubs want this player.
“The information I’ve been given is he hasn’t fully made up his mind yet because there are still talks going on with lots of European clubs. But it does seem that Chelsea have sneaked ahead of the pack.”

Do Chelsea have other plans in place?
According to The Telegraph, another Leipzig man is in the crosshairs at Stamford Bridge with centre-back Josko Gvardiol highly coveted.
The report adds that the 20-year-old has a release clause of £43.6 million and Chelsea are looking to capitalise on it as they did with Nkunku.
Meanwhile, it is understood that Boehly is optimistic of winning the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, despite Liverpool and Real Madrid currently leading the way.
