Bayern München coach Julian Nagelsmann has provided a squad update ahead of Saturday’s “Der Klassiker” against Borussia Dortmund.
After missing out against Viktoria Plzen in mid-week due to COVID-19, Thomas Müller and Joshua Kimmich have both tested negative before the Dortmund game.

Nevertheless, Müller will not be able to feature against Borussia Dortmund. Kimmich, on the other hand, could be in the squad.

“They have both tested negative. Thomas Müller still has some symptoms of a cold and therefore won’t be in the squad. Everything looks good with Kimmich. He has been asymptomatic the whole time and didn’t really notice any symptoms, so he could be in the squad. We’ll see how far he is after five days on the sidelines and make a decision on whether he will travel.”

Meanwhile, Kingsley Coman is fit enough to return to the squad after a spell on the sidelines, but he’s not an option to start.

“[Coman] is fit and has passed an endurance test. But he hasn’t been in team training because of our mid-week match, and it’s a little too early for him to be in the starting eleven. He’s soeone who can impact the game from the bench. I can see him playing 30-40 minutes.”

In addition to Müller, long-term absentees Lucas Hernandez and Bouna Sarr will miss the game.
