Joshua Zirkzee permanently left Bayern Munch for Bologna in the summer, who now sit 17th in Serie A. He’s barely played with only two appearances thus far and is stuck behind striker Marko Arnautovic on the depth chart. In a press conference, Zirkzee explained his move:
“It wasn’t a choice related to Serie A but to the club. I have very good feelings towards the club and the coach, that’s why I chose to come here.”
Bayern do have a buyback clause of around €20-25 million and the 21-year-old said he could imagine returning to Bavaria:
“In the distant future I would like to come back, yes, who wouldn’t like to play for Bayern Munich? It’s a dream come true.”
“I haven’t really spoken to Nagelsmann, as soon as he heard about my arrival here he said he was really happy and wished me well.”
