PSG have been drawn to face Chelsea FC in the Champions League RO16 following today’s draw held at UEFA’s Nyon headquarters. The games will be played on 10 / 11 and 17 / 18 March. Chelsea are set to host the return leg at Stamford Bridge. Les Parisiens and the Blues will face each other for the first time since the Club World Cup final that Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea deservedly won 3-0.
Speaking to the media this Friday before PSG’s away Ligue 1 game to Le Havre on Saturday, head coach Luis Enrique has reacted to his side drawing Liam Rosenior’s Chelsea. The Spaniard said a revenge was not on his mind. “These are different competitions. This draw represents our path so far; we’re used to it.“
Luis Enrique said that he was very happy to have qualified for the Champions League knockout stages as he looks forward to a “fascinating” tie against a Premier League side. The former Barcelona manager added that he is optimistic regarding his side’s chances to retain the Champions League. “What makes me optimistic is my team’s ability to manage all the problems that are piling up. We’re the reigning champions. The problems are primarily for the other teams.“
