After tonight’s 0-0 draw sealed their Champions League last-16 spot, Bayer Leverkusen’s Janis Blaswich reacted to the second-leg performance.
“We achieved our goal and that’s the result that counts. We invested a lot in both games and worked hard [to advance in the competition].
“Maybe not everything looked great today, but we’re through. Now we have an absolutely top team waiting for us in Bayern or Arsenal,” he added, looking forward to their next opponents.
Meanwhile, teammate Jarell Quansah also gave his assessment of their draw with Olympiacos and paid respect to their Greek counterparts.
“First and foremost, we are naturally delighted to have reached the last 16 – and it didn’t involve any more work than expected.
“We knew Olympiacos were very strong and that we would have to compete for everything again. That’s how it turned out.
“Now we face one of the two best teams in Europe in either Bayern or Arsenal,” the English centre-half explained.
